History

Krame Development Company, Inc. is a diversified, full-service Real Estate Organization headquartered in Ramsey, New Jersey.

At the heart of Krame Development Company is its founder and President, William Krame. After graduating Magna Cum laude from Northeastern University in 1982 with a dual degree in Marketing and International Business, Mr. Krame received offers from several Fortune 100 companies. Instead, his entrepreneurial spirit led him to accept employment with Coldwell Banker Commercial Real Estate Services, which, at that time, was the largest commercial real estate firm in the country.

Spending his first year directly under the tutelage of one of the company’s top brokers in the United States, Mr. Krame burnished a reputation as having an uncanny ability to identify underutilized properties in prime locations. Recruited as Director of Acquisitions by the largest owner/developer of commercial properties in Northern New Jersey, Mr. Krame was tasked with analyzing and negotiating dozens of deals simultaneously.

At Krame Development Company, all aspects of the approval, development, construction, and leasing process are personally overseen by Mr. Krame.

Ensuring an efficient use of time and money. These important tasks are not delegated to mid-level managers, as the stakes are too high and the consequences too severe should errors occur due to a lack of focus. Our money and reputation are invested in every deal! Maintaining, preserving, and enhancing both is very important to us.

To remain focused and ensure that every project achieves its potential, we will not undertake more than two projects at a time. At Krame Development Company, we have never had a desire to build a large organization or become a household name due to the volume of deals we consummate. Throughout our 43+ years in the real estate industry, we have purposely rejected many opportunities to grow the business and change the business model. We prefer to “fly under the radar” and focus on the details, ensuring quality over quantity.

Project Flexibility

We have been brought in as a joint venture partner to oversee, manage, and complete projects with others.

Through creativity and flexibility, we have structured deals that range in size from a single, free-standing restaurant on 2 acres, to a 750,000+ square foot mixed-use sports, retail, and entertainment complex on approximately 375 acres, to a 373,000 square foot 50-foot high warehouse-distribution facility on 38 acres.

Throughout his career, Mr. Krame has analyzed thousands of deals, consummated hundreds of transactions and has been directly involved with the development of properties, totaling more than five million square feet of commercial space.

Helping Others

While a Real Estate Developer by profession, Mr. Krame is also a philanthropist, supporting many worthwhile and diverse causes.

He is co-founder of a not-for-profit (The Krame Center for Mindful Living), as well as two start-up companies, U-Thrive Educational Services and Mindful Awareness Practices, the purpose of which is to educate and bring mental health and wellness programs to communities and individuals in need, with an emphasis on Mindfulness, Positive Psychology, and Self-Compassion.
